About Us

Ventura, California, VivoMetrics® was established in 1999 after the company acquired patents for wearable sensors that monitor respiration and cardiac function. The company’s team of biomedical and software engineers adapted the sensors for ambulatory use and the LifeShirt® System was born.

The LifeShirt® System is the first non-invasive, ambulatory monitoring system that continuously collects, records and analyzes a broad range of cardiopulmonary information. Users wear a lightweight, machine-washable garment with embedded sensors that collect pulmonary, cardiac, posture and activity signals. Data collected by integrated peripheral devices can measure additional parameters such as blood pressure, blood oxygen saturation, EEG/EOG, periodic leg movement, temperature, end tidal CO2 and cough, to provide a real-time view of the wearer’s physiologic status unmatched by any other available technology.

The LifeShirt® System has received both Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance and clearance from the European Medicines Agency (EMEA) regulatory agency (CE Mark).

VivoMetrics® is led by a seasoned team of healthcare and technology experts that includes scientists and software engineers who are leaders in the field of physiologic monitoring. The company’s efforts are also backed and guided by an esteemed Scientific Advisory Board that includes physicians recognized for their pioneering research and leadership in the areas of behavioral health, psychiatry, cardiology, pulmonology, sports medicine, pharmaceutical research, pediatrics and sleep study.

VivoMetrics® is a privately-owned company financed by Credit Suisse First Boston Private Equity and other investors.
